Aups :

37 km. from Brignoles and 30 km. from Draguignan.

Situated at the foothills of the Alps where the air is clear, dry and brisk, Aups is 60 km. from the seaside and 80 from the ski slopes.

The picturesque old streets testify to the rich past of Aups and will be appreciated by history buffs.

You will notice the keystones on the houses, ancient fountains and sun dials.

The renown of Aups is also due to its black truffle market every Thursday from November to February.

Ampus

Take route D955 heading to Castellane, then D49.

This 10thc. viIlage perched at 600m. altitude has kept many traces of Roman and Medieval times, such as portals, a church and fauntains.

Its narrow streets and houses clustered around the church give this town a feeling of charm and authenticity.

Set up against the foothills of the Alpes de Provence in Haut Var, Villecroze is a charming village which attracts many visitors. In the magnificent decor of mountains of pines and oaks, this village has many sights to see. Set up against the foothills of the Alpes de Provence in Haut Var, Villecroze is a charming village which attracts many visitors. One, which you shouldn’t miss is the Commanderie des Templiers (house of the Templar knights) of Ruou founded in 1150 which, at the time, influenced life in the area all the way from the Verdon Valley to the Mediterranean. In its park are trees of rare species, caves, a waterfall and beautiful rose gardens.

In the summer, Villecroze organizes concerts in the St. Victor Chapel (12th and 13thc.). These are given by the International Academy of Music (Foundation Grunner - Schlumberger) and bring together great musicians from all over the world.

Good visit...
